wooden shaft with a hook-shaped head piece, a cylindrical stone blade fit into the grooved ending, fixed by twisted plant fibre strings, the blade is of a heavy greyish-black basalt-like stone, with a sloping, partly smoothened/polished edge, slightly dam., cracks (tip of the wooden shaft), abrasion, on metal plate; a comparable piece can be found in the Museum of Suva, the capital of Fidji-Islands, blade and fixing with plant fibre strings original, rare piece (according to the previous owner).
